Starting Your Home Based BusinessDate: April 16, 2009

Location: Old Point School - 108 Old Point Ave. - Madison, Maine This workshop will cover the steps to turn your hobby or passion into a successful business adventure. We will cover the necessary requirements to getting started, and do an overview of the planning, marketing and record keeping steps necessary to run the business. Participants will have the opportunity to review the resources available to them as they embark on their new business venture.

Is Entrepreneurship For You?This workshop will help you begin to assess whether you are ready to take on the challenge of starting your own business. We will talk about the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, issues to consider before and during the start-up phase, and what tools and assistance you can access in Washington County to help you along your way. We'll also cover the importance of business planning, the basics of marketing, and introduction to business financial planning. Space is limited; pre-registration is required. This in-person workshop will be take place at the Machias Women's Business Center, 1 Stackpole Lane, Machias.
